About Mission & Team
Mission
Our hypothesis for change is STEM NEEDS Black, Latino/a/X, Indigenous and people of color fully represented across all disciplines and visible in leadership across STEM sectors and industry corner offices. 2030STEM takes a systems level approach to create a community of practice that enhances self-efficacy, STEM and cultural identities, and self-advocacy while addressing systemic barriers in institutional structures and funding mechanisms required to diversify the current STEM population. Growing BIPOC talent in STEM is not a feel-good moment, it is a valid strategy for advancing the STEM enterprise. We will create the acceleration of STEM change necessary to establish an ecosystem that works for all by 2030.
Team
Our founders and leadership team members are culturally diverse, representative of a broad spectrum of STEM fields, and have a track record in advocating for, advising, and advancing underrepresented individuals in STEM. The leadership team understands the current environment and have networks in the STEM enterprise that allow us to identify pain points, create opportunities, and leverage our experience for collective impact.
