Ruth Cohen has more than 35 years of experience in non-profit leadership, management, and fundraising for a wide-range of national and international education and cultural institutions.  Her career includes leadership staff positions at the American Museum of Natural History, PENCIL (Public Education Needs Civic Involvement in Learning), the Sundance Institute and Playwrights Horizons, in addition to consultancies with more than a dozen different cultural institutions.  She has deep expertise in Board relations; strategic planning; program impact design and evaluation; staff management; external communications and community-building.  Ruth has taught at NYU in non-profit theater management and museum studies.  Ruth is a graduate of SUNY-Binghamton, with graduate coursework at Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration’s Executive Education Program for Social Entrepreneurship.  In 2021 Ruth opened Real Impact Consulting, working to deepen and expand her non-profit clients’ mission-driven impacts.  Ruth is an avid reader and writer, civic volunteer, and lifelong learner.
