INSIGHTFUL COMMENTS
Part of the bridging process is “bridging” to culture. Both scientific and personal cultures (Mande Holford)
Emotional and cultural learning can detract from the educational learning needed to obtain an advanced degree. Soft skills, community building and a hug are needed to bridge as well!!! (Cameron Bess)
We always think of bridges as one way transitions over an obstacle. But how interesting to recognize you can use them to go back if you need!! (Cameron Bess)
That 'safety net' issue is definitely something that needs to be considered. The FV Bridge Program leaders / alumni have created an 'emergency fund' that can be used by students if necessary (if car broke down, rent advance has to be made, etc.) (Brian Nelms)
