INSIGHTFUL COMMENTS

  • Part of the bridging process is “bridging” to culture. Both scientific and personal cultures (Mande Holford)

  • Emotional and cultural learning can detract from the educational learning needed to obtain an advanced degree. Soft skills, community building and a hug are needed to bridge as well!!! (Cameron Bess)

  • We always think of bridges as one way transitions over an obstacle. But how interesting to recognize you can use them to go back if you need!! (Cameron Bess)

  • That 'safety net' issue is definitely something that needs to be considered.  The FV Bridge Program leaders / alumni have created an 'emergency fund' that can be used by students if necessary (if car broke down, rent advance has to be made, etc.) (Brian Nelms)
